"Magic of night and water..." Elizabeth mumbled into her drinking glass before turning her emerald gaze onto the young woman who sat besides her. "Shelter is important, yes. If you have money, I will get the room for you." she offered, smiling kindly with a soft grace.
"And what's this? A man has shadowed us, what is thy name?" she then asked to the goblet once more, before snapping her head up and stared intently at the other. She cocked her head, eyes flickering while she studied this youth.

The man sighed, no longer could he listen and stay silent, he had to speak. "I am known as Torath(tor-wrath) by most." He said bluntly. He absentmindedly fingered the hilt of his sword, finding comfort in its cool touch. He fingered the rubies that were the eyes of the dragons and felt the power they held.

"And do you intend to lop my head off with that?" she asked, eyes resting on the hilt of the sword. "Because, if you try, I will not be so nice anymore." she threatened, though her voice remained calm and whimsical. She pulled at a strand of loose brown hair, then pushing the goblet aside.
She stood and made one step towards this man. "Torath, I am Elizabeth the Shepherd's fourth daughter." she introduced, making a small curtsy.

"But.." He started then looked down and noticed that he had been fingering his sword, he pulled his hand away. "Pardon me." He said and withdrew his hands into his sleeves. "Habit I suppose. Nice to meet you Elizabeth." He said nodding at the introduction.

"Habbit is hard to break and easy to make, you'd better mind that." Elizabeth replied, a hint of warning in her words but not in her voice. She straightened, though remained loose all the while. "Torath, it is nice to meet you. Though you are strange." she said absently, eyes looking dreamy and her mind wandering a bit.
Her former infuriation and frustriation having worn away, and the effect making her emotionally exhausted, she spoke only in soft and calm tones. Her voice taking on the rhythms of the stream and wind, a melody of nature.
"What would one, strange as you, be doing out in the middle of no where? At the edge of a wood in a broken down old tavern, in fact." she asked, making more than small talk. She wanted to know, truly, and was determined to gain this information.

He shrugged then with a chuckle said, "I get that alot." He finished off his rum and ordered another, paying the barmaid with a copper.

"Yes, you would." Elizabeth agreed. "You'd had better mind your drinking here, for the sake that this is near a cursed place where." she added, watching the barmaid. "Here is where the monsters sleep..." she mumbled softly to herself.

Aria was excited. Someone understood what she was saying. She was almost ready to leap for joy, but caught herself. It would have been a tad embarasing in the tavern. Noticing that she was feeling warm, she loosened her small scarf. A bi too much, acctually. The scarf fell off, and for a breif second, revealed her pact-mark on the throat. She bent down to retreave the scarf, silently cursing.

"What's this? What's this?" Elizabeth asked herself, her mind's eyes catching the other's fumble. She turned slowly, from the man to the other. "A scar, my my. What can it be?" she asked more to herself -or prehaps the spirit of the goblet escaped it and she was once more asking it- as she spoke.

Tarath snorted. "Well those monsters can kiss my ass for all I care." He said and finished off the rum. "Anyway, It's just a few drinks, to, as me father once said, drown me sorrows." He chuckled and ordered another. He eyed the mark on the speachless ones throat, odd, he thought. Or at least, would have thought if he were thinking clearly. But already the rum was muddling his thoughts.

"I think you have too much for them to choose one place." The spirit laughed in reply. "And good luck with that sorrow bit, you may be able to drown them but that won't make them go away." she added in a more solem tone. "Lesson One: Always mind yourself. Lesson Two: Never take more than your fill." she said in a lighter voice as she crossed her arms.

Tarath snorted, and finished off his fourth rum. Sighing blissfully he leaned back on his chair as he had done earlier, just two legs of the chair touching the ground, though, this time, his balance wasn't as good. He toppled over in a crumpled heap on the floor, the crash of his chair and him falling to the ground was followed by a long stream of curses from his mouth, most yelled in a way that he attracted the stares of pretty much everyone in the tavern.
