Sapphire tilted her, thinking about it. ~Since I was fairly young. Must be about a hundred years now.~ she said. Both she and Sora were still young compared to their races standards.
Sora sighed lightly, thinking the same thing as Arilyne was, though she didnt know it. She glanced over at the fire, and soon stood. She placed a few more logs on it to keep it going before sitting down once more.

Harabi walked over to Sora and Liam carrying her fish to Sora's cheery fire as she walked past she bent to scratch Sapphire's eye ridge. Harabi had never felt anything quite like dragon skin before and was amazed at the texture.
"Better?" she asked Sapphire before sitting down with Sora and Liam to intoduce herself "I'm Harabi and I believe I overheard you say your name, Liam right? There used to be a little boy in my village named Liam I don't know if he's still alive though. Your friend the stag is striking, If he can't understand me then tell him that I think he is one of the most noble creatures I have ever seen."
Harabi watched as Sora helped roast her fish and she could barely wait to have a taste they smelled delicious, and Harabi thought she still had some taliekin, a plant grown in the mountians, left to season the fish with. As soon as the fish were done Harabi pulled all the bones she could find out then she began to eat. Seeing that Liam had already eaten she didn't offer to share.

Barlin turned his antlered head to Harabi, and bowed deeply to Harabi, even lying down. Arilyne also nodded her head in greeting. She owndered about that addition to Harabi's sentence. "I don't know if he's still alive though..." It made her wonder about where she had come from. She reached in to a large pouch hanging from her belt, and pulled out two items; a shaved-over piece of wood the size of her fist, and a small, folding knife with a razor-like blade. A whittling knife. She set it to the wood, taking out bits and pieces, slivers and chunks at a time. She had few true skills in this world, and wood-working was one of them.

Sapphire grinned. ~Yes, it is.~ she said to Harabi, then glanced curiously towards Arilyn and what she was doing. ~Wood-working?~ she asked. Her eyes sparkled as she watched her carve.
Sora laughed softly at Harabi. "Enjoy the fish, It gets old after a while. Well only a little, anything warm is better than cold and stale bread." she said with a smile. She also glanced towards the wood-work in progress. "Interesting, you must be a wood-worker." she said, and then smiled. "I prefer to work on precious gems, mainly sapphires, since I have them in abundance." she said, and tapped Sapphire's side.

Harabi had to agree with Sora's remark about warm fish being better than her bread. What really was interesting to Harabi was Liam's wood working she wanted to know what was being made, Harabi had always admired those who could take something wild like a branch and make it something useful and lovely she had never bothered to learn any craft like that and Harabi was begining to think it would be a useful skill. If she stayed with Liam and Sora long enough she would ask for lessons but for now she was content to watch Liam and rest by the flames. If only that breeze would stop.

Arilyne looked up at Sora, and grinned slightly, her eyes showing it, since her mouth couldn't. "Normally, I would not appreciat the craft of gem-working. It doesn't grow. Doesn't change." She looked up at the dragoness. "Though that certianly can not be the case, from what you implied." She grinned again, and continued whittling. It was to take the form of an eagle, wings outspread. After the form ws taken, she would find its function. Function and beauty together sold higher, and she did, after all, make these small statues for spare gold.

Sora laughed softly and then reached over and grabbed her pack, drawing it closer to her. She reached a hand inside. When she drew it out it was with a smaller pouch. She tilted her hands and dumped the contents out upon the ground. Light glinted briefly upon the sapphires embedded in her palms, and she hoped that the others hadnt noticed. She didnt really feel like revealing Sapphire and herself at the moment, of who they really were. Out of the bag tumbled an assortment of sapphires, they were from different sizes, and different shades of blue. There were even a few emeralds, rubies, and diamonds in the mix. Several bars of silver also fell out, though there didnt appear to be any tools in the bag.
Sapphire grinned. ~You always amaze me, that you always seem to find my scales.~ she thought, amusement ringing through her mind voice.

Harabi found herself warm full and feeling completely safe for the first time in months. She untied her braid and began to reweave it watching the eagle be born from Liam's nimble fingers. She was happy to no longer be alone and to be in the company of new friends. Slowly she felt herself began to pass into the realm of dreams and she surrendered to the calls of sleep.
As soon as she was asleep she began to dream of horrors and pain. She saw thousands of tiny demons eating at Sapphire, Barlin, Sora, and another girl who Harabi didn't recognize. Liam was nowhere to be seen. There was a dark presence in the wood bearing down on the travelers chocking them with it's foul being. Harabi heard the screaming of panicked souls and labored breaths which she realized were her own right before she awoke a voice hissed in her mind it was nothing like the sweet melody of Sapphire's mind voice, It said;
"Harabi I am the king of death the father of misery and the prince of hate, I am coming for you and your friends there will be no escape."
And with that Harabi awoke in panic, in her heart she knew that her dream was no ordinary nighmare the Prince of hate or whatever he called himself was coming.

Arilyne turned around, noticing that the girl Harabi was panting as she dozed off. She stod up quickly, rushing over to the girl's side, as she woke up abruptly. "Harabi!" she shouted, making sure that the girl could hear her through her panic. "Harabi, what happened?" She dug through another pouch hanging from her belt, and pulled out a small vial of clear liquid, slightly thicker than water.

In a daze of fear and panic Harabi heard a clear voice ring out and calm her racing heart, the terror of the dream was still fresh but Harabi knew that if she didn't tell the others then then the evil voice in her dream would get them.
"he's coming for us someone terrible wants us dead or worse, he's coming, we have to go, run flee hurry." barely intelligible thoughts rushed from Harabi's mouth in a fountian of dire tidings.
She jumped up and nearly knocked the vial out of Liam/Arilyne's hand ((I never know what to call Arilyne because she has a secret identity)) as Harabi hurried to grab her things.

Kith rubbed a hand down Wheryn's neck, soothing her. She had taken to snorting and shying at shadows, but could only tell him that there was a strange smell in the air, one that she couldn't identify. He removed his hand, now wet from the thin sheen of sweat on the mare's tense neck. ~Wheryn, we don't have to go this way if you don't want to.~
Again, she gave no answer save for a slight quickening of her pace.
"Fine," he said aloud, low voice taking on a soothing tone for the mare's sake. She could be most stubborn at times and once commited to something there was no chance of changing her mind, but her natural fear of the unknown was starting to fray at her determination.
~There's water ahead and I'm thirsty, plus I've noticed your water skin is almost empty.~ she told him, leaving the question left unasked.
~We'll camp there, you need the rest.~ he replied, swinging down from her back to jog by Wheryn's side to give her a break from carrying his weight. After a few minutes the lake came into view and Wheryn left his side to drink deeply from the lake.
Kneeling beside her to refill his water skin, he never noticed a thin wisp of smoke that announced the presence of someone else nearby.

Sora heard what Harabi said, and sighed loudly. "As always no rest for the weary." she said, and with a grim smile she quickly scooped the precious stones back into their bag. She then put the small bag into her pack and sinched it up, throwing it over the silver spine right above the hollow where Sapphire's neck met her shoulders. She did this all with the ease of motion that came from practice.
Sapphire was already standing, looked about with dazzling eyes. ~Someone new is here.~ she thought to Sora. ~Though they don't appear to be evil feeling.~ she added thoughfully.
Sora nodded, then grabbed her bow, pulling the string taunt as she aimed it at Kith and Wheryn. She took a few paces towards them, then stood still. "Be you friends or foes?" she questioned.
Sapphire watched Sora for a moment, then bent her head and blew out the fire in a breath of chilling air. She glanced at the others, her wings slightly unfurled. She appeared to be slightly nervous, as she watched the others.

Kith turned around slowly, brushing a strand of his sliver out of his face to see better. His fingers twitched towards his bow but he stopped himself. "We are not foes, M'lady, but whether we are friends remains to be seen," he replied, low voice as smooth and friendly as he could possibly make it.
~A simple friends would have sufficed.~ Wheryn berated him, sounding amused.
~Thank you Oh Jewel of Wisdom...~ he replied sarcastically, turning to face her with an annoyed expression on his face. ~Aren't you a bit nervous when someone has a bow pointed at you?~ he asked.
~You forget, I can pick up on people's emotions from their smell, she doesn't smell hostile or angry or afraid for that matter.~ she replied haughtily, ears pricked toward the woman.
~Oh...well in that case.~ he said and rolled his eyes at her before turning to face the stranger. "Well? Can I move now, or are you going to shoot me?" he asked, cocking an eyebrow.

Sora nodded, a faint smile upon her lips. "Very well then, I won't shoot you." she said, then looked towards Wheryn. "Though you probably should pay more attention to her." she added as she lowered her bow, then gently released the taut string, even though there appeared to be no arrow even knocked to the string. She then turned and walked back towards Sapphire and the others.
Sapphire rumbled softly with laughter. ~I was right, they don't seem to be who Harabi was speaking off. That means we all have more time.~ she said, looking towards Kith and Wheryn. ~Hello.~ she thought to them, and dipped her head in a greeting.
