Sora was glad that Wheryn had calmed down. She still held her bow, her fingers spreading along it, as if she were about to shoot three arrows instead of one. She tilted the bow on it's side, the string still taut, as she took aim. She would continue to use her bow and arrows made of light untill either they were blocked by more magic, or the men got to close to use a bow. Then she would move on to something even more deadly in her hands, her twin swords.
Sapphire still lurked along the bottom of the lake, waiting. She was using the patience that came from long years of practice, something that came easier to most elves and different typse of temperament in dragons.

The Prince soon realized his grave mistake in underestimating the powers of Sora and Kith, he had not seen Harabi and Wheryn fight yet because they did not fight with arrows but he recognized their potential. Quickly he built a shield of the mist around the soldiers and himself because he didn't want his fighting force discouraged by a few magic arrows. He wasn't impressed in the least and thought to himself "Is that all you got elf?" Soon the veil of mist began to advance, the prince wouldn't release his men until they were too close for arrows. In the back of his mind though he couldn't help feeling that something was not right, the Prince had been almost certian that he had felt the presence of a creature of greater magic like a unicorn or dragon. Where is it he thought.

Sora blinked as the mist formed, and sighed. She closed her mind, opening up her mind just enough to act as her eyes. She raised her bow, shooting off the arrows, to kill three more men, the arrows of light illuminating the mist. After she shot them off, she slipped her bow over her shoulder to hand over her back. Her hands reached higher, to rest on the hilts of her swords. Then she waited untill the men came to her.

Harabi could barely stand just waiting for the Prince and his men to get close enough for battle. She wanted a full out charge no waiting for the Prince to come and fight on his own time, but wait she did. She began to slowly twirl her staff the blade glittering like a jewel of death, it was the tool that had sent many a person to their final reckoning. Slowly she tried to map out the position of the soldiers from the way the mist was moving. Harabi guessed they were in rows parallel to a small fallen tree. They prince and his men were very close now and the mist suddenly disappeared as the soldiers burst out from behind it. Harabi ran to meet them sending three to their deaths before the full attack raged around her. She slashed and stabbbed, parrying a blow to her head she spun around to meet the next attacker and felt a sudden explosion of pain as a black hilted throwing knife found it's mark in her side. She faltered for a second before bringing up the blade of her staff to sever the head of a man wearing a maniacal grin. Harabi realized that her life wouldn't last long if she tried to stand alone. With blood gushing out of her side Harabi tried to get closer to Sora or Kith, because if they let the Prince's men separate them they would be picked off quickly.

Wheryn, sensing Harabi's plight squealed angrily, plunging to the woman's side, lashing out with hoof and teeth. The great mare was a formidable opponent and soon had fended off, though not slain, a warrior who had tried to sneak up on the woman.
"She says get on," Kith shouted to her, translating for the mare who now stood at Harabi's side. He turned his attention back to the men immediately, selecting another target. He did not shoot to kill, rather to wound for even if it only knicked a man, he soon fell writhing and screaming to the ground. Each time his arrow found its mark a voiceless scream filled his mind, to kill a man, a man like himself. Gritting his teeth, he steeled himself against the shock, knocking another arrow he felled his fourth target.

Sora quickly unsheathed her swords, the ringing sound of metal cut across the sound of battle. She spun them expertly in her hands, so they looked like a whirling silver disk. She sliced clean through the middle of a man that had tried to attack her, his sword skittering away from her own swords, not able to stop their spinning. ~Wheryn, bring Harabi to me. We'll get her fixed quickly.~ she thought to the mare. She forced her way forward, standing next to Kith so that he would have a better shot at loosing his arrows with more space about him.
Sapphire lurked, waiting untill either the Prince stumbled across the bank of the river, or untill she had a clear shot of numerous targets. Her tail twitched behind her in the water, not likeing Harabi being hurt at all.

Wheryn lashed out about her angrily, clearing enough room for her to leap to Sora's side. She struck out with her forehooves at those foolish few who got close enough. Luckily the Prince's men had no bows, for the great horse would have soon been struck down.
Kith shot arrows quickly now, for there were no men who came at him. Those few who had now lay at his feet, slash marks on their faces where he had struck them with a long knife he kept at his waist. It too was poisoned and the men bore looks of horrible agony on their unmoving faces.

Sora quickly re-sheathed her twin swords, than stepped close to Wheryn's side. She looked Harabi over, then placed both of her hands over the wound in her side. Her palms glowed with a deep sapphire light as she healed the wound.

Harabi had leaped on Wheryn after hearing Kith's frantic shout and was brought to Sora. She soon felt the sick sticky feeling whenever her body was healed. Harabi hated getting healed and most doctors told her she was imagining things whenever she told them about the sick feeling. Maybe it was because Harabi's body didn't respond well to being invaded by strange magic, but the sharp red burning of her side wound was worse then the healing so she steeled herself and held back a moan. Harabi looked at her staff, it was covered with the blood of many men. The men had been alive when the blood was still wet but now it was dry and the men were dead. After she was done being healed she sprung up again and returned to the fray. She then realized that if she continued to fight like this her stamina would fail her and she would be too weak to help fight the prince so she began to tone down her attack instead of trying to kill them she deciced to simply make them unable to continue fighting.

Kith reached back for another arrow and saw the sword flashing down at him from his left. The side he had neglected to watch..the side no one was on to warn him... He dove out of the way biting his lip as the sword bit into his side, steel slicing easily through cloth and flesh. Wheryn appeared at his side and lashed out at the man with sharp forehooves, he fell dead. A warm, sticky stain spread across his side and a dull throb threatened to erupt into a sharp pain if he moved.

Sora saw Wheryn kill the man, and knew what had happened. "Figures, men never pay attention." she said, darting towards Kith. "Stand still." she told him, her palms still glowing sapphire. She placed her icey touch on his side, healing the wound. Unlike most healers, her healing magic came from her adept ability with water. As soon as she was done she moved away, drawing her swords, and spinning them into deadly disks. "You really should pay more attention." she said, grim humor in her tone as he palms stopped glowing. (sorry I was gone, the internet crashed)

He merely grunted in reply as the icy sensation spread up his side, burning his flesh, knitting it together. He didn't pause to thank her before getting up and setting an arrow to the string, pulling it back mechanically as he took aim.
Wheryn snorted her thanks to Sora however, taking a place on Kith's left side in a not so subtle hint that he couldn't fend for himself.
Another arrow found its mark and the man dropped, he reached back and found nothing but empty air where his arrows had been. He grabbed his long knife, holding it loosely in one hand, warily watching those who now approached him.

Sora nodded to Wheryn, the spun around, cleaving a man in half with her swords. She looked around and spotted Harabi, then took Kith's right side, though she was farther away. Her swords spun easily in her grasp as she waited for those foolish enough to come to close to her.
Sapphire continues to lurk under the water, though it was becoming harder to simply wait and let her friends fight. The only reason she was waiting was so that they might have an advantage over the Prince when they finally fought him.

Seeing him deprived of his main weapon, and only wielding a knife, though a long one at that, some of the bolder idiots rushed him. One reached him before the rest and he ducked under the man's wild swing, barely cutting the man, the idiot dropped to his knees screaming, the poison was not diluted then....
~Surely thye will stop soon, they cannot think that after we have repelled them for so long that we will simpl give up,~ Wheryn protested in his mind.
~They probably mean to tire us, then to habd us over to their Prince.~ he replied, sparing her a glance as soon as the men stopped their charge to watch him warily. ~They will probably keep us fighting until we drop.....~

Sora grinned with a wry and grim humor as she overheard them. ~Then they shall be waiting a while with with me here and a lake next to us.~ she commented, loping off the hand of a man nearby then driving her sword clean though him.
